Skiing in La Norma France

We had the most wonderful skiing holiday in La Norma. For the kids it was their first time skiing except for five lessons at Ski Dubai. They all improved in the ski school and eventually all the girls caught the telecabine up the mountain and skiied back down. For Peter and I we were pleased at how our skiing skills came back after many years of not skiing, and we were especially pleased to finish the holiday intact. La Norma was the perfect family resort it was quite small and easy to walk to the slopes from our apartment, especially important when we had to carry five little sets of skis and usually one little boy all the way. Apparently we had the best dump of snow at that time of the year since 1971. It wasn't so great for Peter driving for nine hours from Paris in snow to get there but it was wonderful for us all to wake up to a snow covered village with snow still falling.

A half day in Paris

We were able to drag the kids away from Disneyland for a little while to visit Paris. They were in awe of the Eiffel Tower, and had fun climbing on all the steps around the Trocodero.

It was amazing to think that as a family we were in Paris and seeing sights that before had only been seen in the movies.

We walked from the Eiffel Tower along the Seine to the Lourve. It was a beautiful walk, and whilst the kids were tired, they still were very interested in all the sights.

We also discovered that the French can even make a hot dog taste like haute cuisine, the fresh baggette making all the difference.

Disneyland Paris Character Breakfast

One of the highlights of our trip to Disneyland Paris was the Character breakfast at Mickey's Cafe. The looks on the kids faces as the characters came to visit was priceless. Mickey Mouse even helped Alice to eat her breakfast. The characters all thought we were a bit of a novelty with triplets so paid us special attention. It was a great start to our adventures in Disneyland.

Angus' third birthday

Angus' third birthday was a low key affair by Lockhart standards. But the best thing about it was that Aunty Juanita and Lee were able to celebrate it with him. Angus loved the big red fire engine he received from Juanita and Lee, and as you can see by the photo he wants to be a fireman when he grows up. Bob the Builder is still a big favorite, hence the cake, which was made with violet crumble bars specially imported from Australia for the day.

We bought a baby over to Dubai with us in August but we well and truly have a little boy on our hands now, and we love him dearly.
